The struggle of Ahmednagar district to gain leadership in the industrial, agricultural, cooperative, and educational sectors is still going on today. Many social and political activists have made valuable contributions to this struggle. In this contribution, a boy from a very poor farmer's family in Dahigaon - ne, Shevgaon taluka of Ahmednagar district, motivated by a specific goal with his hard work and intelligence, successfully demonstrated his sincere efforts to become a true 'Nath' of orphans. That person is Dr. Nath Jaawant Paulbudhe, being 'Nath' in the name, his passion to work for orphans did not go unnoticed. Without any kind of political heritage, he actively participated in the social, political, cultural, and educational life of Ahmednagar city and district for 35 to 40 years. In this, he tried to get justice for their various problems by forming an organization for the unorganized workers such as vidi workers, industrial workers, rickshaw pullers, etc. Though a doctor by profession, he practiced his profession as a religion. He never looked at the business as a means of charity, doing medicine without taking money from the poor. He was popularly known as the 'Poor Public's Doctor'.
He accepted the defeat in the assembly elections by a narrow margin and continued his social work vigorously. He was known throughout Maharashtra as a loyal and faithful colleague of Sharad Chandra Pawar. As a record of Dr. Saheb's social work, Sharadchandra Pawar gave him a chance on the Legislative Council as such a faithful and loyal colleague. On January 6, 1090, he was appointed as a member of the Legislative Council. As a member of the Legislative Council for six years, he strongly raised many common issues in the Legislature, cultivating the value of 'Power is for Service'. Various issues of the city were raised in the hall and got grants for the development of the city. His work in the Legislative Council was very scholarly and effective.
The housing conditions of the vidi workers in Ahmednagar city were very miserable, so for the vidi workers to have their own solid houses, Doctor Saheb obtained land for the settlement of vidi workers from Sharadchandra Pawar in the Vasant Tekdi area in the suburbs of the city for Gharkul Yojana for WIDI workers. At this place, concrete houses were built for vidi workers. Since the Nityaseva Colony is in the suburbs of the city, the children of these laborers are deprived of education, Doctor Saheb established the educational institution 'Seva Shikshan Prasarak Mandal' so that the children of these poor hardworking laborers are not deprived of education Srinath Vidya Mandir, New Secondary School was started in the area and facilitated the education of children today there are Primary, Secondary, Higher Secondary, Senior College, Teachers College, College of Education, D. Pharmacy, B. Pharmacy College, Women's College, Night College are running and many students are studying in them. Today small sapling of The Dr. N. J. Paulbudhe Educational Complex has turned into a big banyan tree. Also, to facilitate the education of the children of the workers in the city, Doctor Saheb started a primary school here at Gandhi Maidan and a secondary school in the Sangle Galli area. Today, the Institute of Technology Diploma Engineering College is running at Narayanadoho.
Dr. N. J. Paulbudhe's colleague Mr. Sankarrao Mangalaram gave him valuable support. The saying 'Gld to Gold' truly applies to these two colleagues. Even today no one can forget his contribution. The work of the educational institution is being carried forward by the president, all the trustees as well as all the principals, professors, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff in the educational institutions, and that work will continue to increase.
