UP Warriors beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 10 wickets in the Women's Premier League on Friday. This is UP's second win. Captain Alyssa Healy scored an unbeaten 96 for him. This is RCB's fourth straight defeat in the tournament. The Smriti Mandhana-led team has lost all four matches so far. On the other hand, UP have two wins from three matches.
UP bowled out RCB for 138 runs in 19.3 overs on the back of Sophia Ecclestone's brilliant bowling. Sophia took four wickets for 13 runs. Along with her, Deepti Sharma took three wickets for 26 runs and Rajeshwari Gaikwad took one wicket for 26 runs. In reply, UP Warriors won the match by scoring 139 runs in 13 overs with 42 balls to spare.
Ellis Parry scored the most runs for RCB. She scored 52 runs off 39 balls and hit 6 fours and 1 six. Apart from Alice Parry, only Sophie Devine (36 runs) was able to deal with the UP bowlers for some time. RCB skipper Smriti Mandhan let the team down and managed to score only four runs.
Captain Healy hit 18 fours and 1 brilliant six while scoring an unbeaten 96 off 47 balls for the Warriors. At the same time, Devika Vaidya played well and scored 36 runs off 31 balls with five fours. Both the openers shared an unbeaten 139-run partnership.
Healy was awarded the man of the match award for her strong innings. Mandhana used seven bowlers to break the opening pair but could not get any success. Healy's unbeaten 96 is the highest by any player in the tournament. Tahila McGrath scored an unbeaten 90.
