The Marathi year begins on Gudhipadva. For the second year Ahmadnagarkars took part in the 'Chaitra Shobhayatre' and took pride in their tradition in traditional attire. At six o'clock in the morning, Ahmednagarkar gathered at Professor Colony Chowk and the Shobhayatra procession proceeded through Gulmohar Road to Ekvira Chowk and various performances were held. The procession started with classical dance, Maharashtrian songs, traditional instruments and chanting of Shivaji Maharaj. This year everyone participated in realizing the concept of ShivaSrishti, while next year the concept of Saint Srishti will be realized. All Ahmednagarkars decided to participate in this concept next year by releasing balloons in the sky from the hands of NCP MLA Sangram Jagatap and dignitaries.
In this initiative of 'Radio City', many business organizations working in social, cultural and sports fields spontaneously participated in it. Venkatesh Multistate and V. R.Bora Jewellers Supported. NCP MLA Sangram Jagtap participated in the rally and added to the enthusiasm. The procession witnessed traditional games, traditional musical instruments and many elements representing cultural diversity.
Bharat Bharti of the R.S.S., Sanskar Bharti, Rotary Club, We Friends, L& T Snyder, Horse Riding Club, Nagar Jallosh, Art of Living, Trek Camp, ICI, WIC, Taj Events, Kesari Social Foundation, Balghar Project, Palvi Group, Ahmednagar Cyclists Association, Kesari Foundation participated while Sri Gurumauli Sangeet Vidyalaya, Victor Dance Academy, Shubhaj Studio, SunPharma School, Mahaveer Mallakhamba, Yoga Training Centre, Virshaiva Akhara, Shravansakhi Group gave their best performance. Amol Bagul showed the creation of ShivShrushti through Rangoli.
Tiranga Foundation maintained the discipline of procession while refreshments were served on behalf of Ghar Ghar Langar Seva. During the presentation, sculptor Pramod Kamble drew a picture of Adishakti. Participants along with Dr. Sudha Kankaria took oath to prevent female infanticide. Child actor Aarush Bedekar from Jai Yogeshwar Jai Shankar serial and Jasmeet Wadhwa who traveled from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on a cycle were honored.
