Australia defeated India by 10 wickets in the second match of the three ODI series. In this match played at Visakhapatnam, Australian captain Steve Smith won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Kangaroo team wrapped up the Indian innings for 117 runs in 26 overs. In reply, he scored 121 runs in 11 overs to bring the match to his name. This ODI match of 50-50 overs ended in 37 overs. Australia returned to the series by winning this match. Both the teams have won one match each and the third match at Chennai on March 22 will be the final match of sorts.
The top order of the Indian team, who came out to bat first, failed in this match as well. In the Powerplay (first 10 overs) half the team returned to the tent. Just like he was dismissed in the previous match, Surya was also dismissed. Surya could not even open his account in the second ODI in a row.
KL Rahul became Mitchell Starc's next victim. Rahul could score 9 runs in 12 balls. He had scored a half-century in the last match, but this time his bat did not work. Starc bowled Rahul. Sean Abbott gave India the fifth blow. He caught Hardik Pandya (1) to Steve Smith in the slip. Smith took the catch while leaping in the air. India suffered their sixth blow in the 16th over. Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head opened Australia's innings. The two ended the match quickly. Marsh scored 66 off 36 balls and Travis Head scored 51 off 30 balls. Marsh hit six fours and six sixes in his innings. Head hits 10 boundaries.
