In the by-election held on Friday on the vacant seat of late vice-chairman Ashok Bhangre of Agasti Factory, the name of Bhangre's wife Sunita Bhangre was unanimously sealed by all the directors present without opposition. According to the election program, District Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies Ganesh Puri announced that Sunita Bhangre's sole application had been filed and declared her unopposed. The seat fell vacant due to the sudden demise of the late Vice President Ashok Bhangre. It is certain that the name suggested for this seat by Nationalist Party leader and Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Ajit Pawar will be the final one. He provided opportunities for Bhangre's wife Sunita.
It was expected that Bhangre's son Amit, the director of the district bank, or his younger brother Dilip would file an application in this election, but it failed. Moreover, according to natural justice, it was expected that his wife Sunita Bhangre would be selected as the successor of Bhangre, and the same decision was taken by Ajit Pawar. The Cooperative Authority held by-elections for this purpose on Friday. The nomination paper of Sunita Bhangre was filed in the special meeting of the Board of Directors. It was signed by Senior Director Meenanath Pandey as an indicator and Yamaji Lahamte as an approver.
On this occasion, President Sitaram Gaikar, Director Meenanath Pandey, Sachin Darade, Kailas Vakchoure, Vikram Navale, Patilbuwa Sawant, Ashok Deshmukh, Pradeep Hase, Parbat Naikwadi, Vikas Shete, Yamaji Lahamte, Manoj Deshmukh, Kailas Shelke, Badshah Bomble, Sudhir Shelke, Sulochana Navale, Shantabai Deshmukh, former sarpanch of Shendi Dilip Bhangre, Balasaheb Tajne, Dilip Mandlik, Vikas Bangal, Sunil Pansare, Dagdu Shete, Bhagwat Shete, Vinod Hande, Tukaram Gorde, Bhaskar Mandlik, Ramhari Chaudhary, Feroze Sheikh, Deepak Jagtap, Yogesh Naikwadi, etc. were present in large numbers.
