On the first day of the budget session of the State Legislature on Monday, supplementary demands of Rs 6,383 crore 97 lakh were presented in both houses. In this, under the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Debt Relief Scheme, a provision of Rs 1,140 crore has been made as an incentive benefit to the farmers who regularly repay their loans.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Devendra Fadnavis presented supplementary demands for the year 2022-23 in the Legislative Assembly today. These demands will be discussed and approved on March 2 and 3. As the state's budget for the year 2023-24 is to be presented on March 9, the provisions in the supplementary demand at the end of the financial year have been kept under control. Out of the total supplementary demands, 4 thousand 673 crores are for compulsory expenditure and 1 thousand 710 crores are for expenditure under the programme.
2 thousand 214 crores to pay to the Maha distribution company towards the arrears of electricity dues of village panchayat street lights, 763 crores for various incentives to small, medium, large scale enterprises under the collective incentive scheme as well as large scale projects, teachers of subsidized non-governmental vocational education and training institutionsAlso, 598 crores for interest on provident fund of non-teaching staff, 452 crores for maintenance and repair of roads and bridges in the state, additional provision of 331 crores for land acquisition of Jalna-Nanded expressway project has been made in the supplementary demand.
267 crores has been made available as an additional provision for the salaries of the employees of the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation for the month of March 2023. Additional provision of Rs 220 crore for loan waiver of Bhuvikas Bank, Rs 190 crore for railway safety construction and Rs 97 crore for maintenance and repair of all government residential buildings in the state is being demanded.
