Nifty ends near 17,600, Sensex gains 900 points; Greenery in the market

Benchmark index today On March 3, the Nifty rose to around 17,600.

At the close, the Sensex was up 899.62 points or 1.53% at 59,808.97 and the Nifty was up 272.40 points or 1.57% at 17,594.30. About 2118 shares advanced, 1299 shares declined and 125 shares remained unchanged.

Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, SBI, Bharti Airtel, and SBI Life Insurance were top gainers on the Nifty, while Tech Mahindra, Ultratech Cement, Cipla, Divis Labs, and Asian Paints were among the top gainers.

All area indices are colored in green. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rose 0.5 percent each.

The Indian rupee closed at 81.96 per dollar against the previous close of 82.59.

...because at present we are seeing a hidden alliance between the ruling party and the opposition party in the centre, state, municipal corporation and village panchayats around us. They are not seen doing public interest work towards the public. They seem to be going to the upper halls only for their own benefit. While going to these halls, they spend lakhs of crores of rupees and there they are seen doing the work of themselves and their crony capitalists. We do not see any opposition party functioning effectively at present. In the coming time, the people should be united with positive thinking, so the fourth pillar of democracy, i.e. journalism, should play the role of a capable opposition party by keeping sensibility towards the people
